Knowing God's Will
Scripture – Colossians 1:7-9: 7You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8and who also told us of your love in the Spirit. 9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Observation – (Write down what you see in the scripture.) To be filled with the knowledge of God’s will. What a goal for each day! What keeps me from achieving that? If indeed God is ready to fill me, what must I open? I guess a related question is, how do I know God’s will? How do I understand His direction for me?
Application – (Write how you will be different today because of what you have just read.) As this week unfolds, I’ll pay attention to those questions. I’ll take another look at how I experience and “hear” God’s voice.
Prayer – (Write out a brief prayer.) Lord, you have been part of my life for many years. You have guided me in some very clear ways and in some that have been more subtle. I don’t really listen for you as much as I should these days. Teach me to do that this week. Thanks.
