God's Unending Love

Scripture – 1 John 4:13-16: ¹³We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. ¹⁵If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. ¹⁶And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Observation – (Write down what you see in the scripture.) I really do rely on the love God has for me. There are times when I make a great mess of things. There are days I find myself standing far away from the light of Christ. I have learned, in all times, God’s love for me does not end. In His love, He draws me back and/or welcomes me back to Him.

Application – (Write how you will be different today because of what you have just read.) I will live with an awareness of God’s love for me today. I cannot make Him love me more nor can I make Him love me less. With that assurance, I will stay open to His transforming work within me.

Prayer – (Write out a brief prayer.) Lord Jesus, sometimes I take your love for granted. Other times I pull it over me like a protective tarp in a rainstorm. Always, though, I know it’s there. Help me today to live in that love, even as I let you live in me.
