God's Intentional Act

Scripture – Genesis 2:4-7: This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens—and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground—the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Observation(Write down what you see in the scripture.) This is one of our foundational truths. God created human beings. We are not here by some random, accidental mixing of various elements. We are here by God’s plan and design. Like the first man, God breathed life into me when He was ready for me to be born. I became a living being by His intentional action and grace. I have my beginning in Him, and in Christ, my life will never end. I have no previous lives nor will I come back in some future reincarnation. My life today is a gift – a unique experience that has never been before nor will it ever be repeated.

Application(Write how you will be different today because of what you have just read.) Every person is unique. The life I live today is fresh and new. I will live out of my uniqueness. I will be aware no one brings what I bring to the table of life. So I will continue to look for and follow the unique path Christ calls me to follow. I will also embrace the uniqueness of everyone else I meet.

Prayer(Write out a brief prayer.) Lord, you have made me just as you want. Please help me be who you want. Continue to reveal your intentions for my life and give me what I need to live them out. I trust you to be my wholeness – my reason for living – my Lord.
